What do you spray in the yard to get them to go away? We use that yard perimeter stuff from OFF that you can buy at Home Depot but I'm guessing that's not what you are referring to. We are going through infertility treatments and back up to a swamp. Ugh.
Put Mosquito Dunks into the swamp water: http://www.amazon.com/Summit-111-5-20-Pack-Mosquito-Dunk/dp/B0002568YA They work incredibly well and aren't toxic to other life. The commercial sprays kill fish and frogs, which leads not only to overall environmental damage, but causes MORE MOSQUITOES in subsequent years, because frogs and fish eat mosquito larvae, and once you kill the frogs and fish off, they don't bounce back...but mosquitoes do, right away. Plus, the sprays contain synthetic pyrethroids, which have been implicated in birth defects and autism, so you really don't want them near you when you're trying hard to get pregnant.
