She was almost GDS.  The Obamas originally wanted their kids to go to GDS, but reportedly the Secret Service nixed it because of security and traffic concerns about GDS' Palisades campus.  That's how the Obamas wound up at Sidwell.[/quote]

That's correct, it was publicly known that it was a security issue that changed her school choice.
