The Sanders campaign had reported breakdowns in the NGP VAN firewalls to the DNC before, knowing that their campaign data could be accessed just as easily (see http://www.mediaite.com/online/dnc-gets-involved-after-sanders-staffer-fired-for-accessing-clinton-voter-data/ ). Did Hillary's campaign ever report such problems, or did they just not notice, or ...? "NGP VAN? We’ve all heard of that company before! Because that’s the company hosting the website for the South Dakota sacrificial lamb Democrat challenger to Congresswoman Kristi Noem, Paula Hawks. And through their generosity, we all knew she was running long before she was prepared to make an announcement..." (see http://dakotawarcollege.com/hawks-website-host-who-leaked-announcement-now-blamed-for-clintonsanders-data-breach/ for more). "The DNC hires a group to manage their database and firewall between the campaigns. They screw up and [a] Sanders staffer sees and reports it. Nothing is saved or printed out and now the DNC is withholding crucial access to voter data until the Sanders campaign can prove it doesn’t have the data from the Clinton campaign and won’t release access to voter data unless somehow the Sanders campaign can prove a negative – that they have destroyed data they don’t have. Which is impossible.” (http://usuncut.com/politics/dnc-sabotages-bernie/ )
There are clearly serious problems with the vendor. It was known and demonstrated that ALL campaigns have access to everything when they shouldn't. Clinton's team had access to Sanders' data as did O'Malley's and vice versa in every instance. They should shut the software down until all of the issues are resolved. Selectively kicking Sanders out makes zero sense and is just deflecting blame away from the DNC's incompetence in getting these issues resolved.
And yet neither of the other two campaigns took advantage of that. The Sanders campaign is the only one that searched, downloaded, and saved data from another campaign. So, yes, they're the only ones whose access has been suspended. And instead of fessing up, they're threatening to sue the DNC, and saying Bernie is the victim here. You'd never think this was acceptable if Hillary's campaign had done it.
