I think this is either the teacher or the librarian [b]being overly concerned about losing books[/b].  The books are there for the students to use, but some people get so worried about losing them that they end up defeating the purpose by not letting students use them in the first place.  It's not a library if the kids can't take the books home.  Some kids have no books at home.  I would point that out, but I wouldn't be angry - it's a common problem and usually resolves itself when the staff changes and the library dragon goes elsewhere.  [/quote]
