You could tell her that her calls are not helpful to you, and that you promise you will let her know when you get results. If she'll be at all receptive to hearing this, you could tell her that her frequent calls just make you anxious, and if she needs to talk about it, she needs to talk to someone other than you, but you'll let her know as soon as you have news. If that doesn't work, you could not pick up when she calls (and you could tell her after the first time that you will not pick up, but you'll call her when you know something - with any comment that you won't be responding to her until you have news, accompany it with telling her you will call her when you do get information). If you won't have test results before the trip, you can judge whether you think you want to go based on her response to your request not to call you daily. [/quote]
