He was wrong and admitted as much. I forgave him and he married a much nicer 3rd wife.

No one understands more clearly than me that your parent will forsake you for a new spouse. Stepchildren have lived this for hundreds of years. This is one of the top reasons that I will never ask for a divorce and if widowed, will not remarry.
