It's not.  But, someone brought up the point that some parents try to get this diagnosis just for extra services, which may or may not be because of autism.  My point was that, much like redshirting, it's the parents with the financial resources that can push for some kind of diagnosis to get extra services.[/quote]

Read what some people have posted.  Yes, some people want their kids to be diagnosed with this because the kid needs some kind of special services, and this is one diagnosis that gets it.  I'm not saying parents of non special needs children are doing this.  It's some parents of kids that have some kind of LD but not necessarily autism.[/quote]
