Yes, filipino food is really terrible. I remember when I first arrived in Manila and was served some boiled rice, a fried egg, and a bottle of tomato ketchup. It is strange as all the surrounding cuisines - Chinese, Vietnamese, Malay and Indonesian - are excellent. They do some adobo stuff which is pretty good, but generally speaking you eat very badly there.[/quote]

I find it inedible and I eat all of the above and many, many other cuisines. I don't find adobo particularly appetizing or original. To answer OP's question, I also dislike most of the native food in the 'Stans - greasy mutton, and strangely textured breads. I think food in places like Micronesia, Guam, Kiribati and Marshall Islands that I've tried has been uniformly bad too.[/quote]
