That is not up for discussion. You have a budget of x dollars and need a kitchen. SIL needs a hands off resort vacation. Those are both needs. If you can find middle ground, fine. Otherwise, the trip is off. Neither of you should have to compromise your needs to placate other people and be resentful the entire time.[/quote]
