As long as it's cleaned and trimmed, I find it much nicer. It's a bit like makeup... if you need it, wear it. If you don't need it, it looks more natural. BTW, I do wear makeup because I need it. I don't need "makeup" on my toes, though. I've never had a mani. I've had one pedi when I was like 38 or something (can't remember exactly), and I didn't like the experience. I'm not a germaphone.
