OP, what is your life like now, career / hobby wise? I don't want you to be more personal than you'd like, but I am so curious. You left at 18 and built a new life. Did you go to college? What industry are you working in? Do you identify with any religion?
I was a hot mess for awhile, but I managed to get a decent career going as a chef/baker/management for 22 years. Now I just work for private people as a household manager and nanny. I did make it to school for a bit but got caught up in working too much and let it go. When I go back- when, it will be for an art degree. I was married for 18 years and have a lovely 17 year old daughter. My life now is hard, because we struggle for money, but peaceful and supported by loving friends. I'm happy and finally found my art again at age 45. I've sold some pieces and find solace in nature and art and by being around creative people. I raised my child to have an open mind regarding religion, encouraging her to explore her own spiritual nature and choose her own path. In some ways, I feel that forcing me to be a part of a restrictive religion as a small child was a form of abuse, but that's another topic and too controversial for this thread. I just took a different path with my own child. I don't belong to any one faith, but I find absolute comfort in Tao, some Buddhist belief and nature religions. My spirituality has been linked to nature since I can remember, as a child. Thanks for asking. I'm not used to talking about myself, I feel I'm very ordinary. I'm almost 50 and have no money, but I've some peace and calm in my life. I didn't have that growing up, so I feel that might be more important.
