The mouth thing is unfortunately very real. It happens most frequently in your sleep, within a few hours of taking the medication. We usually recommend your spouse stay awake next to you with a pair of chopsticks to grab the worm and pull it out, in case it changes its mind. Please don't use tweezers, as this can bisect the worm, making it very hard, and unpleasant, to remove the rest of the beast.
