The cost of living is cheaper in TX. I personally didn't like the new builds in Austin and found myself liking the neighborhoods that you frequently see the property brothers renovating in. Actually, we looked in the neighborhood where the HGTV Smart Home 2015 is this year. Sadly, we didn't wind up relocating and actually bought a home without a basement in NoVA. We could use a little more space (one or two more rooms would be ideal), but we honestly don't miss a basement. At all. We have plenty of other storage elsewhere (garage and attic) Lots of homes in TX have storage space somewhere, as well as flexible spaces that can be game rooms or play space or the like.[/quote]
