I've always considered myself more devout than DH. He believes me more devout than him and his parents too. His parents, of course, think I'm a heretic. I guess the difference is, I know when it's an appropriate topic of conversation and not. He's not very close with them - because you're right, he did grow up and leave. I doubt he talks to them more than once a month. But I'm wondering now, if this comes up every.time.he.talks.to.them. Maybe because they just can't help themselves, maybe because it's the only bit of control they have left in his life. That might guilt trip anyone into silence when his wife is being harassed.[/quote]
