Not sure is the smartest answer. The fact is... We don't REALLY know.  Both sides are religiously defensive and invested in their beliefs ... All of which have conflicting and contradictory evidence that they dismiss .  We only know a fraction of the past and what we know is tenuous.[/quote]

OMG YES WE DO KNOW!  If humans were created ten thousand years ago, then God is a truly deceitful being.  Because in that case he created a universe, a planet, and a species in which every single detail points to an age far, far greater than 10,000 years.  Scientists are not religiously defensive.  They are driven by the evidence that they see day in and day out.  They should be invested in that belief because it is based on evidence.[/quote]
