Last year the schools with the longest wait lists had over 1,300 kids in all their grades.  I think some schools had PK3 waitlists of over 600.  So there are a lot more than those who post on here.[/quote]

Last year there were 4,250 PK3 applicants in the lottery, 2,506 PK4, 1,575 K, et.c

Holy something, more than half as many PK4 entered the lottery as PK3????? But schools only have 3-4 spots if any for PK4, compared to 15-40+! I thought it would be a tad easier this year to get in somewhere![/quote]

The burst of PK4 applications is doubtless driven in part by Ward 3 families, who did not play the PK3 lottery (at least not for their IB schools).[/quote]
