I'm a little frozen as to whether I should rerank based on commute. We have two HRCS that are not a great commute (but doable, I think) above a pretty good charter that would have a really easy commute. (Bridges, Lee, and IT are the schools, the commute is from North Petworth. We currently take the green line and would prefer to stay with a metro commute, if possible).
Just in case someone wanted to weigh in :)
I don't understand. Are all three a poor commute for you? We're at Lee and it's worth a commute, but not if it will be soul crushing. there are several families that currently live in or near Petworth (and further away). Bear in mind though that Lee will be moving after next year.
Bridges would be a great commute; Lee and IT would not be as easy. I know Lee will be moving, but it sounds like it will stay in the Brookland area, right?
Thanks everyone! I just changed the rankings with Bridges higher.
Hang on! you are taking into account the NEW location of Bridges, yes?
Yup, we know about the new location. We are located in North Petworth (sometimes called Manor Park, but I don't want to get into that debate right now...), so the move is actually just as easy for us. I think the commute to IT/Lee is not bad from more southern locations in Petworth, but it would require us to get onto N. Capital and all that grossness. I've never driven for commuting before and hate driving, so I think Bridges just makes more sense, since we can presumably walk/bus to the school. Thank you to everyone for your help!
Bridges sounds good especially for metro. However, we come from North Petworth and don't even touch N Capitol. We take Michigan over to Franklin or Harewood to 4th.
