My son attended Mercy for 2 years (1st and 2nd grade). He was tormented by the boys because he was not a very athletic kid like many of them. This was brought to the attention of the teachers and principal, and they did nothing about it. Their suggested solution was for him to just stay away from the the bullying kids, and the teacher made a general statement to the entire class about not teasing each other. Bullying is tolerated if it is someone who is from one of the wealthy country club families. The bullying continued after this talk to the class and it got so bad, we had to pull him out. He is a much happier kid in public school getting a much better academic and social experience. Furthermore, they claim to be an inclusive school, working with kids with special needs. NOT!! At a meeting to discuss a plan for my son with mild ADHD, the principal, Joan Hosmer, said nothing during most of the meeting until the end when she said, "When will he start taking meds?" Pathetic!!! I know some the the boys who left Mercy for rising 6th grade. Many went to public schools because the academics are more rigorous and activities are more plentyful. Mercy is too small of a school for middle schoolers. Finally, a comment about the moms. They are nice people, but they generally stay in their own clique. There is a group of them who all belong to Congressional, and it is very difficult to break into their circle. This is first hand experience. Do with this information what you like, but I do not recommend this school.
