It's usually more about getting copies of all financial records and, if you don't have an income to support yourself, move a reasonable amount of money into a solo account (which you don't have to hide) so that your spouse can't immediately clean you when you tell them you're leaving.[/quote] Thanks- I'm the one who asked about this initially. I have absolutely no plans to divorce, I was just really curious since this always seems to come up in these kinds of discussions. This makes sense. Is there any recourse when you 1) secure your assets 2) serve divorce papers and 3) spouse goes crazy and mounts up debt? I guess that would all be traceable at that point. I have no idea why I'm curious about this. People do crazy things. [/quote]
