Because it was fraud - way beyond things just not working out. He was undocumented, from an Eastern bloc country, but we dated for a year before he proposed so I thought he was marrying me for love, not just his green card. There's a lot more to the story, but, in short, I was wrong. I was also twenty-four when we met and in love. I won the case because I no longer had his contact information. As soon as he realized I would no longer sponsor his visa, he wanted nothing to do with me.[/quote]

Times have changed. Your situation - based on what you have said - would not have been eligible for an annulment in past years.

Not true.  A marriage entered into with ill faith by one of the parties has always qualified for annulment.  In PP's case, her husband clearly had fraudulent intent.  That is, he married her for citizenship not for love, and she was unaware of his intentions.
