NP here.  My teacher doesn't have to tell me that my kid is the top of the class with reading.  He's the only kid in his class -- actually the entire school -- who is reading fluently and reading complex chapter books.  No one else in his class is reading anywhere close to where he is.  those of us who have kids with exceptional abilities are quite aware of them.  [/quote]

+1  She can't possibly know what other kids are able to do.  As for the only kid in the "entire school" reading "complex chapter books" he has to be in some kind of a preschool setting...and even then the mother couldn't know this to be true.  After all, do you believe the entire school knows what your kid can do?[/quote]
