NP here.  We have the same mother.

When they first started with email, whenever I sent an email, I had to print it up and fax it to them so that they would remember to go on-line to read it (huh?) and then read any follow-ups or responses.  Fortunately, we are past that stage now, but everytime we call, I have to check whether she's seen the latest emails from us.  Although she wants to get email from us, it's almost easier for us to just call and tell her things over the phone.

Now, they want to Skype with the grandkids which was really want to do, but my mother can never remember how to get things up and running.  My wife gets exasperated that my mother calls 10 minutes before bedtime and I have to spend 15-20 minutes helping her get her computer on, Skype running, help her remember her password, get set up, then get the call going.  And then she always answers without video and we have to spend another 5 minutes trying to get her to turn the camera on so that the kids can see her, too.  All-in-all, when we finish our 10 minute conversation, we're like a half hour after bedtime.[/quote]
