This house did not sell. The builder gave up on the sale and moved in himself. They are currently trying to rent the 1bdr basement apartment on craigslist for $1800/month. Little pricey for this part of 13th st NW. I saw this house and considered it seriously but just could see the price as right for the neighborhood and considering a house not much smaller with in line of sight of this house on 13th st sold for $825k. Some odd things about that house that bugged me too. The laundry room is in the master bedroom. Not outside but actually in the mbdr. The kitchen appears to be an IKEA kitchen. Ikea has come up in quality but not for a house you are trying to sell as a million dollars and a block of Georgia ave. One block west maybe but not on 13th st. They also committed a huge no no in million dollar home, they have single hung windows in a gigantic house. No cleaning them from the inside and that also shows they were trying to cut cost buy shorting on the windows. From what I understand the developer got some offers for as much as $930 but refused them cause he wanted more. I also wonder about the HVACs. Every time I went in the house the upper floors were pretty hot and the AC was on at full blast. Could be other issues and fact that there were no window coverings but that did concern me. Also the lower unit wasn't legal apartment and that could have been done while they were building the house out. It I think the reason for not doing it was the fact that the bedroom window would never be able to come up to legal due to the window not being 44 inches from floor and window well was impossible cause stairs imped the way.
