[/quote] You sound like the teacher my son had in 2nd grade who kept him in for the entire recess period because he spelled one word wrong on his homework. When I asked why she did that, she answered without hesitation "how else will he learn to spell correctly?". Teachers don't always know everything and your belief that you know best just because you are a teacher is silly and shows that you aren't up to date on the latest research.
