[/quote] wait wait wait - what does any of this have to do with having kids or not? re: the original question - to me, it'd really depend on what your job is and how you handled the absence. assuming you're allowed sick days, i'd say (if you really couldn't go in without showering at home) you should have taken a sick day and never, ever, ever told your boss why you stayed home. no big deal, in that case. if you missed something important, really let someone down, etc, with your absence, then yes, you were in the wrong. if one of my interns told me they weren't coming in because of a shower, and left me in the lurch, for example, i'd be pissssed. if one of my colleagues decided to take a sick day, and didn't let me know, i'd never give it another thought.[/quote]
