I am pretty sure that the exams the Canadian PP is talking about are not the same as the tests MCPS elementary and middle school students are taking right now. Right.  Our kids have been taking the tests of the school/system off and on through the year.  The exams I'm referring to are high school final exams.  Our kids get 195 instructional days per year.  This year we started September 3 and finish June 26th.   Mind you, schools here don't close due to weather conditions.  Buses may not run but schools are open and teachers are expected to show up.
