It would be more about tearing up over that mother daughter moment of the long lost robin than of some generic mother missing a child's wedding. That, or the possibility that robin somehow becomes a mother non-biologically. OR . . . He tears up because "aunt robin" won't be at his kids' weddings. Yep. I'm going with Robin buys the farm.
