You people are very short sighted, you can always put up drywall to enclose rooms in the above picture but it would be very hard to do the opposite. It is actually more costly and is an upgrade to reconfigure structural supports and load bearing walls to the outside for open floor plans. It's cheaper for a builder to throw up walls and put beams and supports behind the walls separating rooms.[/quote]
