A German is from Germany. Germany is in Europe. Europe is a continent. Jews live on all the continents. Europe is one of those continents. Germany is in Europe. Many Jews drive German cars. I don't know if many Germans drive Jewish cars. There are Germans in Israel. Israel is NOT Germany. Israel is not in Europe, but many Europeans live there. Some Israelis live in Europe. I am a white Jew American. Therefore I am European. Which means I was From the continent of Africa at one point.
Jews are not really white...they are sort of white. Your ancestry is closer to Africa than you think: [i]Reporting in the April issue of PLoS Genetics, the researchers found that modern day Jews can attribute about 3% to 5% of their ancestry to sub-Saharan Africans, and that the exchange of genes between Jews and sub-Saharan Africans occurred approximately 72 generations, or about 2,000 years, ago. I am fascinated with genetics and have even submitted my DNA to the National Genographic project. My brother had his DNA submitted to a different company, but found out that our jewish linage most likely originated in Greece...even though we are ashkenazi jews. I read about the Genographic project years ago. There was a story in there that talked about a tribe in Africa (not sure which country) who's folktales spoke of them being one of the lost tribes of Israel. Of course nobody believed them. So the guy who started the project went out and tested their DNA. Sure enough, they traced their DNA to the Kohanim. They apparently are descendants of the ancient rabbis in Israel.
