I have been a member of LT Reston for about 6 weeks now. My fiancé and I joined for $180/month (no kids). I have a couple questions/comments: 1. With the intro assessments and LT bucks, are these legit or scams to get me to purchase more biological tests and packages with a nutritionist and trainer? I purchased the cortisol/stress test ($265) to see why I am not losing weight despite good diet/exercise. Met with the nutritionist and she was helpful, but recommended ALOT (like 5) supplements for purchase in the café and a detox package she leads for two weeks ($110+), as well as a hormone test (around $300). 2. This place is basically a community center or day care. In the Reston gym, the mom's all bring their kids into the women's locker room b/c it is right next door to the kids center. Also, I am CONSTANTLY dodging children going to/from locker room. Also, I was kicked off a gym court because there was a kids class there. There are also kids' birthday parties on weekends there. I thought I was joining a gym, not a day care or kids camp. It is very misleading. While I hope to have children one day and love them dearly, I need my workout time to be relaxed. This place seems like a hangout for families, especially people who don't want to deal with their kids on the weekends. I appreciate any thoughts on these, especially the recommended testing. Thanks, Route7Roar
1. You can do the assessments and use the LT bucks without spending any extra money of your own. They do try to push heart rate monitors and metabolic assessments, but again you don't need to purchase. 2. Did you not see children at the gym when you toured it? I am at LT 5 days/week, while I do see children there, it is not the way you describe it. 3. Why didn't you do the 2week trial before joining?
