I think it really depends what your financial situation is.  [b]If you have an extra $30k per year lying around[/b], then by all means it's worth it.  But if you have to take out $30K in loans per year, or forego retirement saving, etc etc etc then yes, you can question whether it is worth it.

That's a rather dismissive way of describing it. We plan and budget so we will be able to pay for something that's important to us: a high-quality education delivered in a sustainable way. Saving for college is a lower priority than saving for retirement, but for a lot of people, it is possible to do both, and we do. [/quote]
