It does in fact spend a considerable amount of time talking about unhealthy relationship dynamics and how abuse can escalate. OP, your descriptions of husband's behavior is textbook. Particularly alarming is the controlling issues: wanting you to only sleep in the same room, not wanting you to go away on trips, other friends over the years dropping away.
