DH is like you, OP. I'm wondering if he is you, OP! He hates his job every single day, but goes to work because he has to support our family. I'm going back to work when I finish my master's degree, but I'm not employable without my half-finished degree. So he slogs on.... He has been looking for another job, but he's over 50, and jobs are scarce for middle-aged managers. I pray every day he can find another job and get out of the toxic environment he's in. I don't want him to get sick from the job (he already has, actually), but I can't support the family yet. I totally feel for all of the posters who hate their jobs! The stories DH tells are so depressing and demoralizing! Many total asshats are in management possitions, and they seem to delight in making their staffs miserable. All I can say is hang in there, OP, and keep searching! I know people who love their jobs, so it can happen, no, it WILL happen! Expand your horizons, see if you can picture yourself in another career, use your skills in a different way, something, anything so you can keep going! That's what I've been saying to DH, and it seems to help him a tiny bid. Gawd, it's awful to hate your job, and be unable to quit!
