Absolutely.  There is no reason to get so angry...be flexible...eat good quality meat and also introduce vegetables in the diet of your children.  There is such an incredible variety of of delicious vegetable dishes in Indian cuisine that it would be a shame to deprive your kids of that.

OP's rant seems to for more than just MILs dietary preference...(or anti hindu attitude)...Is the OP also an Indian Hindu?  What is the age of MIL?  It could be that OP is not Indian Hindu and that has disappointed MIL?   Maybe MIL is too old to change her way of thinking.  Sometimes these things have no resolution...all you can do is to ignore the negativity.
