+2.  Doing this would have bothered me as a teenager, or maybe right out of college.  But know what?  I grew up and realized that if someone thinks less of me because I have the audacity to perform a natural body function in a room designed for that very purpose, then screw 'em. If the restroom is a shared space then it is. If you consider it to be a natural body function and you don't see any reason why your coworkers wouldn't want to share in the sounds and smells of you evacuating your bowels then why would why you hesitate to share other natural body functions with them. There aren't any designated spaces for farting / burping. If that is natural and part of the human body function then why wouldn't you simply expel the gasses wherever you are?[/quote]
