The issue for me with out-of-state parents using DC schools is that they are taking spots at schools away from the people who actually pay taxes here. If the family lives in the same county as the school, they are paying for the school.

I know there have been resentments here in DC over people using fake addresses to get into schools that they wouldn't be able to attend with out-of-boundary addresses. To me, yes, it is unethical and I would not PERSONALLY do it, but I also wouldn't report someone for it. I did have the offer to use another address to get into a better school, but it just seems gross to me. Who knows, if I am desperate enough down the line maybe I will change my mind.[/quote]
