I don't understand how anyone can refer to FCC as having a "small-town vibe", what with I-66 and Route7 essentially running straight through it. FCC is an endless traffic jam full of exhaust pollution.
Do you live here? If you don't, then you can't understand that among the residents, there is a small town vibe, even if, aesthetically, the town doesn't fit your ideal of a "small town." It certainly didn't fit my picture of a small town when we first visited FCC. I was so disappointed by FCC when we first visited, after reading so many great things about FCC. The fact is, it may be a pretty ugly looking little town, but you'll find that the reason there is very little inventory in FCC is because people move here and never leave. Almost everyone I know who didn't buy a new home bought from someone who'd been in their home for at least 20 years. This is where people move to raise their families for the long-haul and, because of that, there is a real sense of community. Also, despite the high taxes, this town is still full of empty-nesters--people who stayed even after their kids graduated from the schools and continue to pay to live here because they love it.
