It is hard to work with your spouse in any field.

But this is a school, not a family-owned business.

Can you imagine being a teacher with a complaint--legitimate or not--against your assistant principal?

Generally you'd go to the principal, who hopefully will be fair and unbiased. Where would this teacher go?

What happens to the attractive teacher the Mrs. feels threatened by and doesn't want hanging around her husband's office, even on legitimate business as often happens in schools?

What about the aspiring principal who generally spends a lot of time being mentored by her principal? Will there be too much insecurity for him to be able to mentor properly? Will the Mrs. target the aspiring principal and try to make things difficult for her so she stays away from 'her man'?

What if she's COMPLETELY incompetent? Do you really think he'd be very receptive to your concerns?

For one, it's illegal for such a pairing to happen.

Central office should prepare to be FLOODED with calls from parents and teachers who will not feel comfortable going to the principal because of his relationship to the cause of their concerns.[/quote]
