We are new to A meets this season and our pool has a 2 individual strokes per swimmer limit for each A meet, is this an NVSL rule? If not, is it common for teams to do this?
That is an NVSL rule. Each swimmer can only swim two strokes and relays (which do not count towards the max.) What seems to vary between teams is how what you swim on Saturday impacts what you can swim on Monday. Some teams don't let you swim a stroke on Monday if you swam it on Saturday.
For us it is "if you place in the A meet you can't swim it." Especially helpful for 8U trying to get breast or butterfly legal.
