There is more of a herd mentality here in the DC area than I've seen in other places, where people might wear something older that suits them. Oddly enough, in my more down market social scene in this area, most women are wearing capris or white pants to casual social events, while I'm the one wearing a casual dress because I'm about to sweat to death.
