[/quote] The biggest issue is not financial literacy - it is that decisions are ultimately made by politicians (BOE) and a position (superintendent) that is reliant on BOE approval for decisions and his contract. Closing schools, even if it is the correct financial decision, equals angry potential voters. Instead, they look for short term popular wins (putting money into a school that should be closed). Anything to make the complaining people happy, even if it is a loud small minority and is the incorrect decision financially.[/quote]
