They're meet-ups where a big group of people shows up at an airport usually with empty luggage (easier to lug around) and sometimes fun costumes like white sunscreen on the nose sunglasses, Hawaiian leis, etc.  Then they run around together in a group asking for directions in silly voices and fake crying. They're definitely not for everyone and the questions they ask like "Ex-squeeze us, do you know where gate so an so is???" (and they always say gate so & so or "gate such and such", not a number) are kind of weird, and all the fake crying and sobbing is a lot. But some people swear by them.[/quote]

NP.  I'd seen posts mentioning airport parties and wondered what they were.  This is so weird that I am having a hard time believing it's real.  This is a joke, right?  I feel dumb and gullible now.  [/quote]

That’s true, airport parties are kind of a joke but it’s all about joining in. “Excuuuuse us, but where is Gate So and Such?”  etc etc  and the group running on to the next person or area. Some people really get into it and use Visine eyedrops to make it look they’re really crying “Boo hoo Waahhh,” and Wear straw hats, etc.

Finding out about the next one is always word of mouth, APers says Screens are Mean / Screens by No Means! / Screens are Not in Our Genes, so it’s basically an IYKYK kind of thing.
