It's hard not to hold it against them, even though I know kids are young and still figuring stuff out. I try to stay more objective but some part of me hold grudges against these kids. How do others handle it?
What is there to handle? I dislike these kids and I make sure that I tell their parents that my kid suffered due to their kids unkindness. Maybe the parents will do nothing but at least I made them uncomfortable. And my kid saw me advocating for him. Other than that? Yes, I orchestrate get togethers, play dates, fun outings etc with other kids and I don't include the bully kids. When people ask why, I tell them that my kid remains traumatized and unless the bully kids apologize and win my kids trust again...I plan to keep them apart. No, I am not bullying these kids...but my son needs to know that they have to walk away from toxicity. What if these kids are popular and my son is the misfit? Well, then I make sure that my own circle of friends and relatives and their kids are including my son. I am responsible for making it happen. PLUS, nothing succeeds like success. I am good at finding opportunities where my kids can shine and that builds their self-esteem.
wow what a mess
