Of course they paid informants, how else would they get so much insider information? Right-wing extremists are notorious for informing on each other over ideological differences or plain old greed. Most people move up the ranks to grift this gullible base so why not get additional income as an informant?
Paying informants is one thing. Encouraging violence is another. There were organizations there who were stirring the pot on the left. How much money did SPLC give them? That said, most of the people protesting the event were sincere--but were there also people stirring violence? I watched the event that day on Cspan. It was pretty wild in the streets. Was this encouraged by SPLC? Looked like Antifa types. Of course, there is no excuse for the driver who killed the peaceful protester. But, there were others who were not so peaceful. I'd love to know who came up with the "unite the right" idea. Stupid from the start. I think it began with those who did not want the monuments destroyed--but turned very dark with the "unite the right."
You’re in luck because a federal jury already determined that it was Jason Kessler, Richard Spencer, and Christopher Cantwell. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2021/11/23/charlottesville-verdict-live-updates/
