Not trolling, just stating facts.

Even google confirms that Cannon Beach (known as the best OR beach) isn’t ideal for swimming given the cold water year round and dangerous currents. The weather is notoriously cloudy. Sand is dark and the overall vibe is gloomy.

I was there last summer for a one day visit and it was sunny and everyone was having a good time.  One thing that surprised me was that I couldn't find any intact shells.  I would have liked to have a little souvenir but there was nothing worth bringing back.  I saw a lot of pelicans.  The town also looked very cute.  Reminded me a little of Vermont.[/quote]

Poll 50000 random domestic and international travelers, or just check Trip Advisor data. West is more appealing generally to more people, by a significant margin.

I mean, google, ChatGPT, and all the beach people I know prefer east coast beaches. The west coast has some dramatic scenery but the water is too cold to enjoy even in the summer.

Anyway, our banter isn’t helping the poor French woman find a cute beach town in America. Let’s set aside our differences and focus on that, okay?
