Have any of you "oh the W schools get everything" people looked at a map? How in the world would they make any substantive boundary changes to Whitman and Churchill?
they are protected by Virginia. but i'm sure they'll find a way to bus kids in and out.
They just finished a boundary study where that theoretically could have happened, but did not.
yes, but whats to say the State wont overrule to support the Blueprint
... uh, what? The State defers to local boards for boundary studies. In fact, one of the reasons why the Save Wootton filing / lawsuit is going to fail is because the State BoE's standard is: For decisions of the local board involving a local policy, the local board’s decision is considered prima facie correct, and the State Board may not substitute its judgment for that of the local board unless the decision is arbitrary, unreasonable, or illegal. COMAR 13A.01.05.06A.
you obviously dont know our governor, who entire goal is national recognition. touting his blueprint for maryland and how he forced a white wealthy enclave with high school rankings, to take in the poor and immigrants, would be national gold for him. he can pound his chest about overriding local boundaries in the name of equity. the liberals would eat this up and go absolutely crazy. and most people in this forum, hate the W cluster anyway and would applaud it too. these arent normal times with Moore at the helm
So if black and brown children are bussed to Whitman, does that mean that white and rich children of progressives are bussed out of Potomac???? Horror!
"progressives". they typical dont live in the W clusters. the lower performing kids come in, the clusters parents go private and every school district in MOCO is ranked 6 or lower. and b/c of that, MCPS needs ever more money and my property taxes go up another 30 %
Mcps needs more money as they don’t have accountability and good financial management. They need to stay within budget and cut the waste. Of course progressives live in those areas.
