The approach to weather decisions at SSSAS sums up the weak leadership at the school. They send an update yesterday saying they’ll make a call later, leaving families wondering and putting working parents in limbo. They just sent an email canceling after school activities but then leave the door open for another update by 11:00 AM. They leave parents waiting and unable to plan while they wait until the last minute to make a final call.
Same at Holton. Except that the update is by 10:00am.
Oh my. You are a damned if you do or damned if you don’t person. I wonder what would satisfy you. First there was no after school activities are canceled wait and see about classes email. My Holton after school activity was canceled at the same time today (thihgh I had the intelligence to assume nothing was happening for sure after 3 last night per weather predications stating things are ramping up around 5. You’ll never be satisfied with what administration does. I APPRECIATED the heads up last night and arranged my day appropriately. It allowed me to be prepared in case there was early dismissal. They sent a text before 10 stating the situation and then the email came. What more do you want? If you’re in an office and can’t get to school etc you had the time last night to ask another family to help out if need be. And I know this community well…there’s no way someone wouldn’t help you out if you reached out last night. There should not have been any “scrambling” You ALSO had the possibility of keeping your kid(s) home unpenalized if you so chose…they said that last night. So don’t complain about this effecting your day. It’s the weather, and it changes frequently. My vet didn’t give me a heads up that they might close early today, and, they let me know at 10 they were closing at noon and to reschedule my appointment. Am I hopping onto Yelp to slam them? No. Also, I’m happy they didn’t cancel bc I want my kids in school as much as possible. I wonder if you are one of the couple insane posters who have to criticize every little thing the school does rather than just leave. Oh and don’t give me but my kids like it and I don’t. Then don’t crap on the school your kids love. Or be the adult and make these decisions like schooling yourself. Simply put, Holton has done an excellent job with communication for today’s storm. If you can’t see that I think you need to look inward and try to understand why you need to live in the negative.
Wow. Take a chill pill. You sound unhinged. I was just pointing out that Holton was taking a similar approach to the school mentioned previously. How you went from there to asking my family to leave Holton is beyond puzzling.
Agree, that was a bonkers response to your statement of fact. - A Holton parent
