Both washu and emory undergrad b-school programs are very well regarded. A key difference is in the timing of the business curriculum. At emory, you generally don't apply to guizuetta until end of sophomore year and take biz courses Jr'/Sr years. At washu, you apply directly to olin and can start biz classes right away- and they have very interesting biz course/consulting type seminar freshman year which I think is an advantage. I have an older kid who went to emory/business (doing very well profressionally but this kind of kid would be successful no matter where they went to school- crazy smart/driven, competitive etc). My other kid is at penn/wharton which also begins business courses freshman year. Given that the recruiting timeline for finance jobs is now so early, it's good to get some exposure to finance/acctg topics before recruiting starts. That being said, these are all great schools with a multitude of opportunities for kids.
One clarification re Emory - a lot of kids (mine included) are able to apply to the Emory business school at the end of Freshman year and therefore can take 3 years of business classes (must be on main campus, not Oxford). It’s not that hard to get the prereqs done by then.
