The problem is that it’s binary choice. A vote for D is a vote for open borders, more illegals, DEI, men playing women’s sports, soft on crime, high taxes, etc. And most Rs just can’t go there. Dems need a new message.
Even if this were true, as you said, it’s a binary choice. Why pick the known liar who is besties with a pedophile and a narcissist to boot?
Your hyperbolic characterizations are meaningless and don’t overcome the the negatives of the D agenda - so says every battleground state, which is the only thing really matters.
The Dem agenda is pro-democracy. Pro-civil rights and due process. Pro clean water and air. Support for research to improve people's health and lives. Pro-opportunity for Americans. Let's get rid of the GOP corruption, pedophiles and pedophile-protecting, war-mongering, anti-democracy, pro-autocracy, citizen-killing con-men and women of this putrid incompetent administration.
These aren’t specifics, they’re just vague overarching goals, pro-democracy and clean water, really ? The purpose of the thread is to appeal to Rs to switch their midterm vote. But this not compelling at all.
The Republicans are literally anti-democracy and anti-clean water. They are trying to pass a law to make it harder to vote as we speak. They have torn up the constitution in pieces, creating a “unitary executive” theory that gives the president kinglike power. They’ve rolled back clean air and water regulations as we speak. Sometimes simply enforcing the laws we have instead of breaking them makes the Democrats pro democracy and pro clean air and clean water. Do you guys keep up with what is actually going on around you? Where do you get your news? Do you even know what Republicans propose or what laws they pass at ALL?
More hyperbole - not convincing. I don’t really care who wins the midterms. Gridlock is good. If there are more government shutdowns because of lack of agreement, thats fine also. Trump will have free-reign for at least the next 10 months and the border will stay shut for the next 2+ years.
Which part is hyperbole? I’m talking about facts. Is the unitary executive theory not real? Did the president not just invade another country without taking permission from Congress or the UN, like a mad king? Did the president not close USAID and other agencies that he had no right to under the constitution? Did the president not roll back environmental regulations that determine air and water quality? Did the big beautiful bill not show a total rejection of clean energy and environmental subsidies? Did the president not neuter the FTC after Lina Khan had been aggressively reinvigorating antitrust actions under President Biden?
Everything you mention is under control of the Executive branch - he’s the President. If Dems disagree then use the Courts to challenge. What did Obama say, “elections have consequences.” That’s where we are.
