If you present as a female, but were born a male, and you get a new license that identifies you as a male, won’t that visual disconnect be confusing for anyone who has to check the ID? They might think it’s a fake.
Then point is to make life miserable for those people by adding just one more awkward interaction for them to have on a regular basis. Somehow, that will make trans people go away.
So this is all about not making people feel awkward?
What public safety purpose does it serve?
It’s recognizing reality and biological fact. You’re assuming these people actually look like someone of the opposite gender.
You didn’t answer the question. What functional purpose does this serve? Whose life is improved by this?
Everyone in Kansas’s life in some small way. Because their government has stopped this bit of fraud.
Be specific. How does it improve people’s lives to make it harder for trans people to drive?
It’s no harder for them than anyone else else. You show up at the DMV, take the test, fill out paperwork and you’re done for 5 years or so.
They literally invalidated trans people’s licenses over night. It’s illegal for them to drive to the DMV to get a new license. How does that improve anyone’s life?
Well it’s illegal for my 16 YO to drive there alone too, before she has a license.
#MAGALogic (or lack thereof)
